Original Deerington Application
• Link to Accepted Deerington Application: Here.• Additional Adjustments to include: Chuck has been in Deerington since October 2020. He and Raleigh came in during the month from Hell, and it's been an off and on nightmare and dream come true ever since. He's grown closer to Raleigh over the last year, choosing him as his copilot (essentially) and partnering up with him. They eventually formed a solid, unbreakable relationship that's had it's ups and downs, but they've come out stronger for it, on sure feet and solid ground.
Yeah, sure, Raleigh says Chuck bullied him into dating him, but really, they deserve each other.
He's grown a lot as a person, and while he's still arrogant and cocky, self assured and certainly caustic and biting, he's mellowed quite a bit, and has done his best to be less of an asshole and a better person, as a whole.
He's cultivated several positive relationships in Deerington beyond Raleigh. His best friend is
Wu, and while they're a bit opposite, they get along smashingly well and team up very well. Chuck's also buddies with Wu's partner
Mako, which he's always thought was funny because, well. Obvious reasons. They're a good foursome (not like THAT, Jesus), and they get along very well. It's nice to have friends, because back home, he didn't have many. There wasn't time to dedicate to that kind of relationship, and someone in Chuck's position, who knew they were likely going to die, just couldn't afford the luxury. While Deerington was fucking insane, it certainly had its merits.
The
Winchesters though, Jesus Christ those are some people he does NOT like very much. He sort of
gets the whole possession thing but also Lucifer killed Wu and frankly, if Raleigh hadn't gotten to Sam first, Chuck might've actually done it. He had no problem knocking the shit out of Dean and has absolutely nothing to say to him - or any version whatsoever of the guy. He actually got along quite well with EV!Sam until, you know. Luuuuucy, I'm hooooome~
His father,
Herc, was also in Deerington, but the relationship was strained as it always is. Chuck's immediate arrival was emotional, but after that it seemed like every time they spoke it was a fight, something went wrong, or seemed like his father was trying to pull away. This isn't something Chuck understands, because while they were never outwardly close, Chuck and Herc had been in each others heads for years - they knew how the other felt, deep down. There was affection there, but it wasn't talked about, wasn't physically shown. They were in nearly constant contact back home in one way or another.
Now, they have little to no contact, and Chuck is convinced Herc is an alternate version of himself, because that's the only logical explanation that excuses the strange, erratic behaviour. Their relationship can be considered both a positive and negative - both back home, and in Deerington.
Chuck's mother
Angela, on the other hand, was his whole world when he was a child. He adored his mother. She doted on him, took him for sweets and to movies, and when she died in Scissure's attack, his world ruptured and exploded. He always kind of blamed his father for that, which strained their relationship, too.
He also didn't have a super fantastic relationship with
Stacker Pentecost. He was Herc's superior, and he thought the plan, while solid, was going to go to shit because of Stacker's decision to bring in Raleigh. At the time, he didn't trust Raleigh with his life, and deep down he questioned Stacker's choices. He has respect for his superiors, but he makes himself heard when he has a problem with their decisions, especially if Chuck thinks that they'll affect his life.
(spoiler: he wasn't totally wrong)
All of that said, Chuck's dedicated, loyal, reliable. He's persistent as fuck especially when it comes to Raleigh or something he wants. If he'd ever gotten the chance to go to college he'd be what you'd call an overachiever, studying his ass off to the point of exhaustion. If he can't be the best? Why bother? He's hard working and rarely gives up.
For all his positive traits, Chuck is...well. He's arrogant, aggressive, and
emotional. He tends to hold himself away from people, even with all his growing he's done, his social insecurity manifesting as douchebaggery. Most of this is in his original profile, though it's important to note that he's still kind of a jackass.
Deer Country Attributes
• Canon Powers: Chuck is one of the best Jaeger pilots there is around. He’s good in a fight and he’s wild and almost as unpredictable as Raleigh Becket. As a team, Chuck and his father are described as the ‘greatest the Jaeger program has ever seen’ (art book p32). Chuck lives to be a Jaeger pilot and he’s a cocky ‘Top Gun’, with good reason.
He’s also skilled in Martial arts; Stacker Pentecost’s trials demanded knowledge and extensive training in the arts and Chuck is exceptionally skilled. He also boasts more than adequate competence in Jaeger mechanics, and tends to retreat to Striker’s tech bay to work on the Jaeger when he’s pissed off or frustrated about something.
Other than that, he's just a human in a big ol robot suit.
• Blood Type: Darkblood
• Omen: His dog, Max
• Blessed Day: Nov 2
• Patron Pthumerian: The Tower
• Blood Power Manifestation:psychokinesis/telekinesis: create objects, and manipulate them into parts he needs. is, he can take a hunk of metal and warp it into a crankshaft, etc. He also has basic telekinesis, in that he can move things with his mind.
